In book 4, of course, the PCs make a stop in good old Sandpoint.
I am not up on all the various APs but I know something goes on with Ameiko -- not sure when though (Jade Regent). is she still proprietor of the Dragon at this point? Is she too old? Is she moved on to bigger things? Does she have a relative in her place? (how did others handle this?)

Shattered Star assumessage that the events of Rise of the Rune lords and Curse of the Crimson Throne (and maybe Second Darkness? I forget) have occurred, but doesn't consider the other APs as having taken place. If your play group has gone through JR of course you can make the Rusty Dragon be owned by someone else, but if not, just have it be Ameiko.

The assumption is that Ameiko is still the proprietor of the Rusty Dragon. She remains in that role until Jade Regent, which Shattered Star does NOT assume to have taken place, takes place.
Once that happens, who the tavern goes to is left unclear, but my assumption has always been that she'd leave the tavern to Bethana Corwin, the Rusty Dragon's maid.

Just a little thread necro because this came up just this week in my campaign with characters visiting the Rusty Dragon. As I played in a now finished Jade Regent campaign GM'ed by one of my players I decided to tell them that Ameiko had left a few years ago with frieds, never to be seen a again. I decided on the spot that in the meantime Jubrayl Vhisky had swindled his way into ownership of the inn. He did keep Bethana as maid, though.
