A WotW game is starting at my place first weekend in November and I want to break my usual character routine (barbarian, ranger, monk, paladin) and play a wizard. We are a small group so I don't know what the DM might change for character building because in another the other DM in our group has us using gestalt characters in Shackled City so be prepared for that. All 3.5/pathfinder is available to us except advance tech guide and guns. I am currently thinking of using an oni-born tiefling and taking lost tradition (wisdom) just incase she does have us gestalt so I can do so as monk and have decent AC. I want to be a damager and specialized so what school do you recommend for focus and what opposition schools? We are using the focus/foil method and we rolled for crimes to build our character around and I got high treason.

If you're looking for damage -- e.g., Cynthia Blastercaster -- there's a good guide on-line about how to build one.
Broadly, you want the Admixture school, probably an elf for the spell penetration boost, and then the Magical Lineage on whatever your go-to damage spell will be, possibly Fireball.

If you want to play a wizard, I've just this weekend finished the 2.0 version of my Guide to the Diabolist. You can find it right here.
