White Mage and UMD

Rules Questions

Pretty simple (or maybe not?) question but, the white mage archtype for arcanist says you can cast cure spells from the cleric list as if they were on your class list and prepared (by spending a arcane pool point)

So are they always considered on your class list, but simply unprepared? Can I use wands of CLW with this archtype? Or would I still have to treat it as not on my list and UMD it?

What if I spent the arcane point, then used the wand?

Thanks all!

No. The archetype does not add cure spells to your spell list, it allows you to cast it as if it were prepared when you spend an arcane point. To use a spell trigger item, the spell must be on your class spell list.

You need UMD for a wand of CLW.

However, you can take the unfettered arcanist archetype in addition to the white mage archetype, changing your spell list to the witch spell list. The witch spell list has cure light wounds and other healing spells on it.

Whether or not that suits the character is another question.
