Burnt Offerings confusion

Rules Questions and Gameplay Discussion

We haven't attempted the burnt offerings adventure path yet but I do have a couple questions about it:

1. When selecting the adventure path, does my group ONLY use cards from each adventure box for that adventure deck? ie only use those monsters, weapon/item/ally when acquiring a random reward, setting up locations with required cards.

1a. if no,
I would assume then i just shuffle everything of its own type together and thats how I pick a reward, fill the location decks ect..?(yes no)

1b. and if thats true then,
When the adventure path is done, do I remove all the cards from every adventure deck that's been shuffled in with the box? or do I leave them there for future singleton scenario encounters and single adventures (not paths)?

When you start a new adventure (like Burnt Offerings), mix all of its cards into the box. Take a look at the Rise of the Runelords Adventure Path card. It explains when to remove basic and elite cards. So the monster deck, for instance gets bigger, and then starts slimming down as you remove the weaker cards.

Always play with all cards from the current adventure and all previous adventures. As jones314 said, see the adventure path card for when to start removing cards from the game.

For whatever reason it has not been letting me post a reply here on my original account, it keeps telling me "Oh its your 3rd post, do you want to change your name?" and then resets my post and doesnt actually post it, despite clicking preview or submit post..Anyway,

My question about removing the cards afterwards still hasn't been answered, was wondering what should be done when this comes to it:

Do i remove the adventure decks' 1-6 cards after the path is over to reset it for the next time I take on the adventure path? Otherwise there would be overlap in cards for the second time the path is attempted.

Also as far as removing cards with the basic trait from the game when they are banished, are they gone for good? or just for the current adventure path, and should be added in as soon as the current path is complete?

It all depends on what you want to do. If you are starting the path over, then reset everything to exactly how it was when it was new.

If you want to just do a single scenario from a particular adventure, then just make sure you are using all cards from that adventure and all lower numbered adventures.

Cards are removed for a specific campaign, so if you start the campaign over, the cards that were removed go back in.

Thank you so much, very concise and easy to read (and much appreciated). This has seriously been driving me nuts haha so again..Thank for helping me out!

Ok, just to add on to CSouth, when you start Burnt Offerings, Adventure Deck 1, you should have decks B and 1 in the box mixed in (plus C if you have it). Then when you start Adventure Deck 2, add that to the box. Now when you start Deck 3, they go in the box as well. At this point you remove basic banes and optionally basic boons as you banish them. I used the empty deck boxes to keep these cards. Keep going like this and do the same for Elite cards from Deck 5 on.

So the rub is, changing the box for different campaigns and to do it right takes a bit of work. You could try just keeping a count of Basic monsters, barriers, spells, etc. removed and just take out the right amount for setting up different campaigns.
