Shadow Lodge 5/5

Pretty sure I know the answer to this but just want to confirm

spells found in a spell/formulae book during a scenario / module that are not legal for PFS play ---
e.g. Permanency, awaken, blood transcription etc.
are not scribable by the PC's

and can be considered to "Magically" Vanish from the book in which they are found in

am I correct in this ?

Sovereign Court

No, illegal spells are not allowed - I would guess that such things would be in modules or adventure paths which are not built primarily for PFS.

They'd still be there...just they couldn't be used at all. Regardless of if they're there or not, they can't be used by a PC in PFS...NPC's do not have the same restrictions.

ya I knew they couldn't be used by PC's

but the scribing was a curiosity and weather the players can / cannot scribe them period based on their existance
... and there are some PFS Scenarios with NPC's that have some spells like this (prepping one now)

I'd call scribing them using them. It's not casting, but you're still using the spell as a template.

In my mind, a good basic rule of thumb, if you can't buy it and take it with you normally(via chronicle/fame) when you're done with the adventure then you can't take it with you in any form.
