+5 to a skill for 2,500?

Pathfinder First Edition General Discussion

I was reading the blockbuster guide and it made mention of giving your familiar a +5 magic bonus to a skill for 2,500 gp but made no mention of how. Does anyone know what it is talking about?

Custom-made magic items. An item that grants a bonus to a skill costs (bonus squared) x 100gp.

Similar to Boots of Elvenkind (which grants +5 Acrobatics) and Cloaks of Elvenkind (+5 Stealth).

Give it a magic item, such as a cloak of elvenkind.

Technically, it might need to be a slotless item if you play with limited (small #) of item slots for familiars. That would cost double.

And any custom item has to be approved by your GM, so they have veto power over any item not already written up in a book. But a +5 skill item is pretty tame so it's likely to be okay.

Scarab Sages

There are preexisting magic items that grant +5 bonuses for most skills. Price tends to range from 2.5k - 5k.

Examples: boots of elvenkind, eyes of the eagle, ioun stones, living garments, etc.

There are several Ioun stones from non-core Paizo sources that provide skill bonuses.

Are there any PFS legal slotless items that add to UMD or Intimidate for under 5K?
