I agree with a lot of that of that article, the second to last paragraph though. You cannot make people care. And comparing the Obama re-election year with the municipal election turnout? That's a joke. How comparing the 2004 turnouts, or even the 2010 turnouts.

I, of course, think voting is for ninnies. I was just wondering how many disenfranchised felons there are in Ferguson.

Probably a lot, since you can be found guilty of damage to government property, even after an officer admits on the stand that he lied and you didn't actually damage anything.

Not sure, I went to compare the number of adults in Ferguson to the number of registered voters, but there are more registered voters, so the "Ferguson" district is more than just the town. I'm not sure where you would find the number of felons living somewhere is. There are 31 registered sex offenders, so there's 31 felons.

I wasn't asking a question. I was responding to Vod's response to my link.

Hong Kong's protesters are using the same "hands up, don't shoot" gesture used in Ferguson

Like you're going to find 24 people who wouldn't talk about it...

Normally they do. Or at least it doesn't leak far enough.

It's also possible this tweeter was just blowing smoke.

I wonder what it means if it's true. Worst case, they start all over again, pushing the whole thing back a couple more months. Serves the delay game well.

OTOH, it's going to be hard to justify the whole "investigative" grand jury again.

In other news, Michael Dunn was found guilty of murdering Jordan Davis.

This was the loud music and "I thought he had a shotgun" case. He was previously convicted of attempted murder of the other 3 teens in the car, but the jury didn't reach a verdict on the murder count. In the retrial they did.

Of course, he's not a cop, so that makes it a lot easier.

No, I believe he's a corrupt SOB, that needs to be stripped of his office, and probably thrown on jail. My point is that despite all the stuff he's done, people continue to vote for him. I wouldn't be surprised if this November he still get 66% of the votes cast in Ferguson.

Sigh. I was wrong, he still got 86.19% of the Ferguson vote. (43.75% turnout)

Quote:

PROSECUTING ATTORNEY

(Vote for ) 1
01 = ROBERT P. McCULLOCH (DEM) 6,258 86.19
02 = NO CANDIDATE FILED 0
03 = COHEN (343) W/I VOTES OF 1,003 13.81

Well, he did worse than last time, and someone got a decent number of write in votes.

Overall he still gets 95.25% of the county vote. (44.47% turnout)
