Anyone notice that in the Rogue Deck Merisiel now has the ranged skill (losing the Disable skill)?
This means she can start the game with a Light Crossbow hitting with:
1D12 + 1D8 + 2
If she gets a hold of the Returning Throwing Axe +1 she'll be:
1D12 + 1D8 + D6 + 3 if you are willing to RECHARGE it...
She's guaranteed to hit at least 6.
And her 50% mark is 18!!
And wait... there's more. Say you're alone! Recharge another card and you're guaranteed a 7 and 50% is over 21.
Play a Blessing of the Gods... Were rolling
D12 + D12 + D8 + D6 + D6 + 3
Hitting at least 8 and 50% is 28!
She also gets to use a d10 as her strength die for longbows.
Sadly she still doesn't start out proficient with weapons though
I wasn't big on RotR Merisiel, but I may end up playing the Class deck version, she's pretty cool. That and the two-handed human cleric. Gotta have a healer available at all times in case no one else brings one.
Wait, was there a one handed cleric? What happened to her other hand? There must be a story there... ;-)
True, but a quick power feat will solve that issue right quick.

Well, my primary problem with ClassDeck Merisiel, tha she is not like any Merisiel I met in the RPG/Comics. I think her S&S version is maybe her best representation.

Since we know that Merisiel and the other iconics are going to be around for a while, we are experimenting with new versions. The other day I drew an analogy to different versions of action figures. You know that Lightning Strike Batman and Anti-Freeze Batman are the same guy, but their characteristics are quite different.

Perhaps, but the Iconics (and how they're represented) often changes from depiction to depiction to suit the nature of the product in question. That's why they're the Iconics.
For example, there's a gender-bent Erzen (illustrating the effects of a cursed belt of gender switching), there's a picture of Seoni wearing Valeros's equipment (illustrating an artifact that can alter your class significantly), and there's a picture of Liranne using all manner of weird equipment, including her using a semi-automatic machine gun in Rasputin Must Die! and high-science space gear on the cover of the Technology Guide.
Seeing them change from Adventure to Adventure to suit the theme makes sense.
