Sawtoothed saber question

Rules Questions

I've come across a few builds on here that use the saber in a dex build using weapon finesse but after reading I find that nothing states that the saber is a finessable weapon. so I guess my question is, is their an FAQ or an errata somwere that makes the sawtoothed saber a finesse weapon?

Liberty's Edge

It was finessable in 3.5, and went away in the conversion to PF.

I came across that little bit of info but regardless of that people still seem to be making dex builds with it and using WF, I'm just checking if it's just being house ruled or if and FAQ or Errata exists.

It's usable with Slashing Grace, iirc, and swashbuckler lets you finesse it anyway, which was the basis of the builds I remember seeing.

I imagine new builds will be using Swashbucklers 'swashbuckler finesse' - which allows finesse with one handed piercing weapons, and the feat 'slashing grace' which amongst other things allows you to treat a single one-handed slashing weapon as piercing for class abilities.

Liberty's Edge

That would certainly make sense.

OOHHH, I must have over looked the swashbuckler part, thank you sir.

Unless you're planning to two-weapon fight, there's no difference between a sawtooth saber and a long sword. The primary benefit of the sawtooth sabre is that you can use it in your off hand as if it were a light weapon.
