I have to make a new character for PFS since mine died recently. I have been working on some ideas, but as of right now, I don't know what I want to play. I have a Paladin who is level 4, but I was finding it kind of dull. The character was good at what it did (that being an intimidating, tanky holy spearman) but it felt kind of repetitive.

I just looking for some advice on something that might be interesting to play. Maybe an interesting build or something that you think is really useful in PFS or anything. I am leaning towards playing a caster, but honestly, I am open to anything if you think it cold be fun. I'm not asking for a full build. Mostly just concepts or ideas to help me out.

You could try out... The Porcupine!

While I do love the idea and give you tons of points for originality, not exactly my cup of tea. But it is awesome. I wish I was capable of making such a unique build! Of course, I wouldn't be asking for help if I could. lol

I recommend trying a raging barbarian and really playing up the stupid. I like reach weapons. I recommend trying one.

@OP: Depends on what you find fun. And just about every character build, especially optimized ones tend to excel in one area so that may run you into the "same thing" syndrome.

But here's just a few ideas.

Like big booms?
Evocation-based Wizard (esp. based on the Blockbuster build).
Alternatively Evocation-based Sorcerer.

Worried about running out of spells (more of an issue at low levels), and don't like spell resistance? Want to cast when silenced and grappled without provoking (mind you not all their spells, just their special a.k.a. hexes)? And still be a full-progression caster?
Try the Witch (or Shaman).

Want to change reality and make monsters re-roll their crits? On top of being a spontaneous divine caster?
Dual-cursed Time Oracle.

Already mentioned, want to make more roar and splatter things with a big stick?
I AM BARBARIAN. (Invulnverable Rager archetype barbarian).

Enjoy archery?
Try a Zen Archer.

Hate missing on your attack rolls?
Gunslinger.

Want a well-rounded hard hitting fighter but with some rogue flavor, extra skills, and not supplemented by supernatural powers or spells?
Slayer.

Fighter/magic-user with a sentient soul-bound blade?
Bladebound Magus. Note this class can be very complex to play.

I tend to get bored with my martial PC's. I have a whole ton(or like 5) of martial PC's sitting between level 7 and 11 that haven't seen action in months, or even years.

Maybe try a caster? I find I rarely get bored with casters, and they have so many more options available to them as they level. Or even something like the Inquisitor adds a lot more, and has a lot more out of utility purpose.

For a Martial PC I'd go with inquisitor. Lots of skills and cool abilities. Useful in and out of combat. Both ACG archetypes are cool. I also recommend the hunter or investigator, though both are slightly more complicated to build, they are truly solid.

For casters, a witch is pretty user friendly. I love wizards myself but some people struggle with them. Oracles are always solid, and can be caster or martial focused. Summoners are AMAZING and you can pretty much change them on the fly. My caster centric summoning over Eidilon summoner is one of my favorite PFS pc's right now. I believe the arcanist is solid, and probably even OP. Take the Occultist archetype to help get over the early level suckage though. Shamans seem cool too, but seem more complicated than a witch.
