So... Uncharted waters here I think:
A druid takes some wood, crafts a wooden scimitar (or uses shape wood), and then casts ironwood on it to make just a standard scimitar, all of which is completely legal as described in the ironwood spell.
My question is what happens when the spell runs out mid combat, and said druid hits something with just a regular wooden scimitar?

I would say, treat it as a club, or great club if it's a 2-hander. Remember, a druid can wield any metal weapon they have proficiency with, whether from their starting list, or any other they get (from multiclassing or taking the proficiency feat). So you can have a greatsword wielding driud if you wanted.
They lose their powers if using metal armor only. But yeah, I would treat it as a club or greatclub, depending on if it is 2handed or not.
