My family needs help...

My daughter, Krystalin Lucyle Slade, was born this past Tuesday, September 2nd. We went in for a scheduled doctors appointment, and the baby was not moving. Half an hour later, she was delivered via emergency c-section. Krystalin is making great strides, as is my wife. The baby is completely breathing on her own, and is alternating bottle feeding and being fed through a tube. She has been slightly jaundiced and is currently having to lay on a biliblanket. Chandra (my wife), made it down here Thursday night, and is in less pain every day.
Now is the bad news. While we are all extremely happy and excited about our new family member, it has put a great financial burden on us. We have set up a fundraiser site located here. I hate the fact that we are having to do this, but our insurance only helps so much, same with medicaid. Other bills need to be paid, and we have just lost over half our income. If anybody could donate anything, it would be greatly appreciated. Even just sharing this on facebook can help.

Posting for dot so I know where to come back to after work.

As a premature and high-risk infant once upon a time, myself... well, I'm sorry I couldn't donate more. Best of luck to you and yours. :)

Thank you! We appreciate every cent. ^_^

All right I gave what I could. Might be able to add to it next week.

Thank you for your donation! :)

Update on the little one. Doing much better! She is off the biliblanket, and is bottling at all but 2 feedings, though not the full amount. She is doing well enough that she has been moved out of the main NICU into overflow in the "castle", which has less staffing and observation. The nurse told us today when she was being moved that she hasn't seen a baby stay in the hospital for longer than 2 weeks after being moved over. Crossing our fingers that she will keep improving and be home soon.

Update: Krystalin's coming home today! After 36 days in the hospital, she was discharged yesterday afternoon. My wife decided to stay the extra 24 hours at the Ronald McDonald house to clean up the room and get everything packed (I've been back home for a week, as I had to go back to work).
A huge thank you to everyone who has donated so far, but we still need more help if people are willing. Now our insurance is refusing to pay for the flight to transport Krystalin from Huron to Sioux Falls.
Once again, here is the link to the fundraiser. Even if you can't donate, sharing this on Facebook will help get the word out and it would be much appreciated.

Sorry it took me as long as it did. I hope things continue to improve.
