Can you take weapon focus in spells, like ray of enfeeblement? Also, doesn't the Burning Hands spell count as a ray or not??? I really need help!!

Plz halp!

Scarab Sages

Yes, you can take weapon focus on any ray spell. Burning hands, however, is a cone, not a ray.

Edit for clarity: You actually take the feat weapon focus: ray spells and it applies to all rays, I think. Most ray spells have "ray" in their name, but not all. It will say "ray(s)" in the spell description if it qualifies.

Oh..... gee, thx I didn't know anyone would answer. Thx!

This board is better than most about providing answers to questions. :)

Oh, then could you take "cone" as a weapon focus?

No, because cones don't require an attack roll and therefore do not count as weapon-like spells.

Cuz I have a poo of a dex bonus, and I'm a sorcerer! I didn't think about my dex

Oh ok.

Scarab Sages

If your Dex and Str are ow then I suggest avoiding rays or any other spell that requires an attack roll. Burning Hands would be good for you. :)

I second that: stick to saving-throw spells rather than energy beams. But if it's too late, if you've already built the character, the Precise Shot feat and/or the true strike spell can be useful to you.
