Traps that work against adversaries as well as the party...

Advice

Coming up in my Homebrew campaign, I am anticipating a chase through a dwarf ruined highway/ under dark area. The PCs will be chased by a contingent of dwarf mercenaries and bounty hunters.

I'd like to figure out some interesting trap ideas that:

A) work continuously so they hinder the adversaries

Or

B) or can be utilized by both the PCs or the enemies

Or

C) are traps that are almost set pieces that would be great places for battle but also treacherous and trapped in their own right.

Well traps are great, but you might want to look at hazards as well.

Crumpling bridge or fraying rope bridge might be cool, have the ability to push enemies to their doom. but too much damage to the area and parts of it might collapse break!

Same concept with an area of rock slides, any loud noise could cause a slide through a random stretch of area.

the highway could also have booby traps, maybe a section with invisible exploding glyphs like a mine field where neither the PCs or their opponents have the cancel command then its a daring run through a mine field!

1 person marked this as a favorite.

I forgot all about hazards.

I really like the mine field of exploding runes!
