Arcanist and Charisma-based checks

Rules Questions

How does the published Arcanist ability of Greater Spell Disruption interact if at all with bonuses that granted by a Circlet of Persuasion?

Greater Spell Disruption:
Greater Spell Disruption (Su): The arcanist can disrupt a spell effect or magic item by expending 1 point from her arcane reservoir. This acts like a targeted dispel magic with a range of touch. The arcanist can add her Charisma modifier to the dispel check. The arcanist must have the spell disruption exploit to select this exploit.

Circlet of Persuasion:
This delicately engraved silver headband grants its wearer a +3 competence bonus on Charisma-based checks.

What makes a check "Charisma-based"?

i THINK it means anytime a d20 and charisma mod are involved in the same calculation.

*sigh*, yup thats correct. I really don't like that item because they ruled it like that. It also applies to concentration checks for Charisma casters, and an item that applies to Dex Based Checks boosts initiative.

So an Arcanist using wearing a Circlet of Persuasion adds +3 to their dispel check when using the Greater Spell Disruption exploit?
