Variant heritages & alternate traits

Rules Questions

If I were to select a variant heritage for a tiefling, for example pitspawn, could i still take "maw or claw" or "fiendish sprinter"?

Specifically, would it be pfs legal?

Do the variant heritages count as different to the alternate traits and thus can have features replaced by them? or can you not replace the variant heritage features because they already replaced the non-heritage tiefling features?

Yes.

Also, yes.

Thank you!

This one was easy.

My first PFS PC was a Qlippoth-Spawn Tiefling Warpriest with the Maw or Claw alternate racial trait.
