Since the School Savant arcanist archetype can select a wizard school specialization, does that apply to the Thassilonian sin magic in Inner Sea Magic (I have the boon that lets me select those for a new character)?

I believe the answer is no.

I agree the answer is probably no, but I don't see how it follows from that post. That was an answer to a question about specializing in a sub-school.

Well, but take JJ's response in context of the time of Thassilon. Thassilonian Specialists are almost like primitive Wizards, given the era they arose. Arcanists didn't exist yet. If you're studying the ways of ancient Thassilon, today, you're studying a subset of magic that cannot be modified. If you can't even mix in subschools, what makes you think you can mix it with Arcanist?

It requires you to be a wizard, not clear what is confusing (maybe I'm missing it?).
