Determining Gear for a Mythic NPC

I believe if you have a mythic monster with class levels and mythic tiers/ranks, you go off the CR, but an npc of a humanoid race genreally has gear = to their level. So do I go with CR if I add mythic tiers to such a NPC, or do I determine their wealth some other way?

What is this creature for? If you're creating something for your party to fight, give it lots of gear if you're wanting this to be hard. Since it sounds like you're just making something pick a value and go with it.
