Kensai question favorite weapon

If a kensai has tranformative magic ability on his favorite weapon and he changes it to a different weapon, is it still considered his favorite?

No your favorite weapon is a type. Not a specific weapon.

I would say no. It would only count as his chosen weapon if it is the same kind of weapon. So if his chosen weapon is a scimitar then it would work with all scimitars. If you change that scimitar into a longsword it is no longer his chosen weapon and no longer functions in that capacity.

As the above have said; I'd have to agree. The Kensai has mastered his weapon 'type' of choice, not a specific item
