In a game right now.
Crocodile climbs out of water, but is adjacent to a square of water.
PC swims up adjacent to crocodile, and grapples it.
PC has a +8 cover bonus to AC against attacks from land.
Does that also apply to his CMD vs the crocodile trying to reverse the grapple?
Circumstance modifiers to AC also apply to CMD, and I think cover is considered a circumstance modifier, so yes.
A creature can also add any circumstance, deflection, dodge, insight, luck, morale, profane, and sacred bonuses to AC to its CMD.
Apparently you do not add cover to CMD in any situation.
Awesome. Thanks. The PRD doesn't work on my phone and I didn't have my Core with me. We remembered that most AC bonuses applied to CMD but disagreed if Cover was one of them.
