Gold throughout campaign

If a PC plays on-tier, on the normal xp track, about how much gold will they have by 10th level? I'm wondering if I should save for certain items.

If I'm not mistaken, it'll be just a hair over WBL.

Someone in my lodge put together estimates for planning on a character sheet template he sent out. I'm not familiar with the calculations that went into it, but he ended up with an estimate of about 68,500 by level 10.

By comparison, my character who's currently 9.2 has earned about 67,000, and so will be slightly above his estimates, possibly due to out of tier play, possibly due to playing exceptionally lucrative scenarios, possibly due to the methodology used to develop the initial calculations.

I made this. Because it was made by me, I make no guarantees as to its accuracy.

I could tell you, but then I'd get beat up by a big purple golem.

Instead, I'll advise that you don't plan too hard. Consumables, while not as sexy as that shiny new weapon or headband, can make or break a scenario sometimes. I've found having a few extra scrolls, potions, and various cheaper wonderous items ends up being more effective than an extra +1 here or there.

bonekeeps and dying can also great effect the amount of gold you get as well.

It can actually vary quite a bit. As Jiggy pointed out, the Character Wealth by Level Table (here) is a good lower bound if you plan on playing in-Tier and at the lower end of your Tier. That puts 10th-level at 62,000 gp.

The estimate I came up with just by a quick perusal of my own chronicles is about 65,000 gp by level 10.

If you play mostly modules, and right at each module's recommended level, then it will be higher (but you will have less prestige). My estimate for a character starting 10th-level, played entirely from modules is a bit more than 70,000 gp.

If you play modules at the minimum level, then a character starting 10th-level will have about 93,500 gp. Assuming none of the modules killed them, that is.

How do you finagle dying into more gold? And what are bonekeeps?

Dying ——> less gold.

Bonekeep is a notoriously dangerous scenario, and I think it has a lesser financial reward as well.

Uh, greater than normal reward. Up to double the normal reward for a 3-7, I believe.

if you survive and fully explore them you get double in the 6-7

Silver Crusade 3/5

Ah. I couldn't remember.

Dark Archive 4/5

It is mostly higher because it was written expecting you not to complete it, hence there was a certain break point at which you made standard gold and then anything after that was bonus over the norm for a 6-7. Depending on the rooms you did this break point was 4-6 rooms in
