hey guys, i'm making this new character for a low gold game, since the master is really low on magic item and money i decided to make a character that doenst need a lot of them and since i wanted to play a magus from a while i decided for a bladebound kensai.
Pb 15 points, no background traits, the sta increment are two +1 instead of only one but you cant add them to the same ability score, manual permitted : base , advanced player, ultimate combat, ultimate magic, evething else need to be accepted by the master.
Dervish dance is out, but i can add agile to my blade with tha magus ability, we house ruled this way.
starting lv 7, i still dont know how much money, but probabilly will not be more than 4000
that is the first draft
tiefling (+1 armor bonus, prensile tail)
str 10
dex 15 +2 +1 = 18
con 14
int 13 +2 +1 = 16
wis 10
cha 10 -2 = 8
feat:
lv 1 weapon finesse
lv 3 craft wondrous item
lv 5 +2 point arcana
lv 5bonus :????
lv7: spell blending (mage armor and the lv 0 touch attack )
i'm not interested about the super burst shocking grasp build, i'm more concerned about a balanced character

Random things in no particular order...
1. I would acknowledge that no one will ever love you and dump Charisma properly. An extra 4 point from a 7 base charisma and 1 less in strength could buy you a 14 wisdom.
2. Out of curiosity what do you intend to be doing a lot of if you aren't going to be Shocking Grasping? If you are going to be more fighter-ish and using spell combat for buffs primarily, then a dex setup may not be the best though a strength setup may not necessarily be feasible: Lack of Power Attack and 1.5 strength per hit hurts you, but so does losing the benefits of high dex.
3. Arcane Mark is a touch spell cantrip; you don't need to use Spell Blending to pick up another one. With that in mind you can pick up any other 1st or 2nd level wizard spell so you could probably find something else you like with a bit more awesome involved.

If the game is going to be really low gold, then I'd question the validity of taking any magic crafting feats, because you may not be able to acquire the gold to make the item(s) in question for a long, long time. During which time, that feat slot might be better used for something more combat effective, like weapon focus, dodge or combat reflexes.
And chaoseffect, your first piece of advice is why no one loves a mix/maxer... and why so many GMs want to punish players for dumpstatting.

i already get weapon focus as a bonus feat with kensai.
It more like that me and our gm have a different notion of usefull equipment, i noticed during the game that he usually hands out as loot all not so great item that i usually tend to sell, this way i can use better the money i get from selling the loot, also no one in the group has that feat so i can contribute to the team with better items

Yes because adding to a tertiary stat is clearly a sign of min-maxing. Or its building a competent character when given a low point buy. But no, why not just twist it to fit in your all too common tirade against dump stats. Wait you had a whole thread for that, why bring it here?
