I wanted to ask everyone's opinion: What are you going to do( or did you do) with your characters after The end of Runelords. Are they being taken apart or kept for posterity?
I know their card list can be written down on a character sheet so they can be assembled later, but I'm conflicted. With the class decks coming out I don't want to deprive my new parties of good cards, and if there are no immediate plans ( say in the next year or two) for a set where I can use my leveled charcters, there's no point in letting them sit in the box. However if I can use my two conquerers again soon I don't want to give their cards away.
Given Vic's response, which is probably what most of us expected, I would suggest (a) make a copy of the sheets for your conquering heroes and archive the originals for the remote, long term possibility of an official continuing saga, then (b) use your copies to continue the adventures yourself, through fan made or self-created adventures.
I'm waiting to develop my own Deck 7+ adventures until I am completely through the first AP, collecting ideas and inspiration as I go. I am sure there will be quite a few continuing adventures coming from the fanbase now that all of the adventure decks have been published.
So far the character sheets for my first two 3 man parties are logged as I prepare to finish with my 5 man party. I like to think that Lini, Valeros, Lem, Seelah and Seoni (5 surviving members of the aforementioned 3 man parties) are mourning the loss of Merisel at the hands of Karzoug. Seoni and Seelah especially as they made their travels with her. Seoni promised Merisel, at Merisel's request, that she would take care of Merisel's prized Sabretooth Tiger. Perhaps someday they can all travel again, but if that day never comes, at least they vindicated Merisel by defeating Karzoug.
We recorded our first group for posterity, but will probably not do that for any future groups. If they ever do extended play, we'll have plenty of time before then to power through a few groups, I'm sure.
