Fervor (Su): Starting at 2nd level, the warpriest can draw upon the power of his faith to heal wounds or harm foes. He can also use this ability to quickly cast spells that aid in his struggles. This ability can be used a number of times per day equal to half his warpriest level plus his Charisma modifier.

In many cases, it is denoted that there is a minimum of 1, when something could possibly go below zero, due to a modifier or when dividing a class level by half.

Now, in the case of the WarPriest, level 2 will get you 1 use per day. However, what if your Charisma is a -1? Does this mean that you will now have 0 Fervor uses until you hit Level 4?

Obviously, based on the text, that is true. But I want to know if that is what is intended, because that would suck.

Furthermore, as a Warpriest, between Charisma for Fervor, and Wisdom for Blessing and the fact that you are a "Warpriest" meaning you probably want some STR to hit and DEX for an armor bonus and CON for HP...you have to divvy up your Attributes quite a bit.

It's been announced that Warpriests will have no need for Charisma when the ACG comes out.

Apparently the class is getting quite an overhaul.

Which may give me a moral dilemma in August since I'm playing a warpriest. Ultimately up to the DM, but -should- I rework the character and play by the -official- rules? When there are any?

The class is being released in August. That's just one month away.

If this is for a home game, talk to your GM. If this is for PFS, it's been explained in the PFS forums that Warpriest PCs may get more than the usual playtest rebuild, since the ability score requirements are being changed around.

For PFS, players are required to rebuild. I have a player playing a Warpriest in the home game I am running. When he asked to play an ACG class, I informed him that he would have to rebuild when the class came out, thus having the option of swapping a few feats and picking up archetypes. He does, however, have to stick with his "character" - no suddenly being archery focused or changing races, etc. I'd recommend having the player rebuild.

Except, I wasn't asking about CHA. Even if the CHA requirement goes away, are you saying Fervor will no longer need any modifier? Because my question still stands if they are simply switching out CHA for WIS.

My first reply was in response to the last sentence of your OP, regarding how MAD a Warpriest was. Removing Charisma helps with that immensely.

As it stands right now, there is no "minimum 1" clause, and not all abilities have a "minimum 1" anyways. If, say, you have a CHA of 7, a Warpriest wouldn't get their first point of Fervor until 6th level.

Perhaps the final version will have a "minimum 1" clause.
