So, I'll talk to him and we'll see what's what.
I saw something recently on FB about someone taking their FB posts throughout the years and turning it into a diary/biography type book.
I bet I could do the same with this thread.
That'd be some f$%*ed up s!++.

And, yes, that's a euphemism.
Long day, yesterday, but I got some stuff resolved, so that's good. And I spoke with my boss about me taking some vacation time between now and Halloween. I need more study time. He was cool with it.
So, today I'm staying home. After breakfast and shower, I shall spend most of the day studying.
With, probably, the occasional household chore or errand to run thrown in for good measure.
All righty...time to go do more important things.
I suddenly find myself in the mood for some awesome, old-school literature. Some REH, or maybe Lovecraft. They each had so many wonderful stories.
Sadly, spare time must be study time. Except Sunday - then I'll put aside some time for Fear the Walking Dead.
Anyway, back to the books.

Phrase #3246 I never thought I'd hear myself say:
"No, baby girl. Don't lick mommy's slipper."
Being a parent is weird.
Do you know how horrifying it is to suddenly realize you're whistling the theme song to Elmo's World?
Now I'm slightly ashamed to be a Mechanical Engineer. Thanks, Bill Nye.
"We strive to create a welcoming space for gamers from all walks of life...."
I'd be hard pressed to find a more blatantly dishonest statement.
Geez, leave the door wide open why don't ya? *shuts door*

I wish it were that easy to get the trolls to leave.
On the other hand, I was pleasantly awoken by my baby girl this morning, and all she wanted out of it was a hug.
On the other, other hand, she keeps trying to push the keyboard tray back under the desk while I type.
To everything - turn, turn, turn
There is a season - turn, turn, turn
And a time to every purpose under heaven
A time to be born, a time to die
A time to plant, a time to reap
A time to kill, a time to heal
A time to laugh, a time to weep
To everything - turn, turn, turn
There is a season - turn, turn, turn
And a time to every purpose under heaven
A time to build up, a time to break down
A time to dance, a time to mourn
A time to cast away stones
A time to gather stones together
To everything - turn, turn, turn
There is a season - turn, turn, turn
And a time to every purpose under heaven
A time of love, a time of hate
A time of war, a time of peace
A time you may embrace
A time to refrain from embracing
To everything - turn, turn, turn
There is a season - turn, turn, turn
And a time to every purpose under heaven
A time to gain, a time to lose
A time to rend, a time to sew
A time for love, a time for hate
A time for peace, I swear it's not too late!
On a whim, I bought the American Sniper bluray while in Walmart today. A fantastic movie about a truly great American and hero. There are a great many people on these boards who could learn from his positive example.
It's a beautiful day here in Houston: plenty of sunshine, a nice breeze, temps started out in the 70s and are only supposed to get up in the mid to high 80s.
Beautiful!
Tomorrow, I'm planning to smoke a stuffed pork loin.
For now, I should go check with the wife and see if there's anything she wants to get done. Then it's time to ruminate on what to have for lunch.

I'm guessing you're talking about the movie, not the book which was far superior.
If you've never read it, the book is more about a society where personal responsibility is encouraged and an integral part of society. Whereas the movie is some Hollywood lefty's view that the kind of society from the book is evil and fascist. Basically, typical lefty projection.
But Chris Kyle was the kind of guy from the book. He did his job, protected his country and his fellow soldiers, and then gave his life trying to help many of those same soldiers adjust to bad situations.
*sigh*
Yes I have read the book.
I have also watched the anime(own), all the movies(don't own), the computer animated series(don't own but it's on netflix), the new computer animated movie(own and have autographed by a cast member), played the rpg(own), and only don't play the war game because I don't have that kind of money.
You can push the personal responsibility angle all you want, but the future there is still a dystopia. Personal responsibility isn't the panacea many believe it to be, and beliving those who do not agree with your mindset to be typical to the point you can automatically dismiss their views takes you closer to the films(I'd say the third one) than I believe you are comfortable being.
What can I say, I calls it like I sees it. Yeah, the future in the book wasn't perfect. Nothing ever is. I don't know about dystopian, though.
As for personal responsibility - sure it isn't the end all be all of making the world a better place, but I think it's better than the opposite direction it seems like some people are going in.
Lastly, sorry, but I do see many on the left as being wannabe totalitarians (hello speech codes, political correctness, and forcing people to engage in commerce they don't want to). However, I never said I don't see folks on the right that same way, though.
Bummed zombie was a little bummed. They didn't have any pre-cut rotisserie chicken at HEB. I was looking forward to having some for dinner.
So....I picked up a big steak, cut it in half, then grilled the two pieces and some sweet corn. Add a little microwave rice and....MMmmmmmmm.
Afterwards, I prepped dinner for tomorrow. Pork loin stuffed with smoked sausage and marinating in some Coca-Cola, white onion, and garlic. When I'm ready to cook it tomorrow, I may wrap it in bacon (haven't decided yet), and get some dry rub on it. Then I'll pop it in the smoker for an few hours.
I'm getting hungry again just thinking about it.
Enough of this foolishness!!! Time to study!
Tonight's topic: Power Plants.
When I finish it, I'll move on to Pumps.
I did not finish Power Plants. Stopped around 11 pm.
Today, the boy must have a haircut. Then, maybe, a stop in at Lowe's to see what they've got in the way of Halloween decorations.
Lord knows they'll probably only have the stuff out for a day or two before switching to the x-mas decorations.
Also, I finally have new slippers!!!
it's a little early for halloween decor don't you think?
Biscuits & Power Rangers! That's how my boy rolls!

i like this kid!
The boy has taste, I must admit.
Of course he does. I have trained him well.
And, like his old man, he does not discriminate between DC and Marvel.
