Hey! This is my first post here. I'm running my first tabletop campaign this summer and it is a blast. We're running Rise of the Runelords.
I really wanted to use a miniature of Black Magga for my Rise of the Runelords campaign but I only found the print out paper miniature. I didn't think the paper would do her justice (although I've enjoyed the paper minis for populating townsfolk and the like) so my fiancé and I decided to just make our own. Here are the pictures.

We're also new to painting miniatures but I'm really pleased with the results. We first bought a toy octopus and toy elasmosaurus (Safari Ltd Incredible Creatures Giant Pacific Octopus and Safari Ltd Carnegie Scale Model Elasmosaurus to be exact). We chopped off the head/neck of the elasmosaurus and the octopus. We cut a hole in the center of the octopus' body to stick the elasmosaurus neck right through the hole. We used green epoxy to sculpt the spikes on the neck and also to fill in the gaps around the elasmosaurus neck. Then it was just a matter of painting it - the octopus and the elasmosaurus are made of different materials and the paint adheres to the elasmosaurus better than to the rubbery octopus skin. The color scheme is based on the picture of Black Magga on page 163 in the Rise of the Runelords anniversary edition - I like that better than the dark green one seen in the bestiary.
I hope you enjoy! I'm REALLY stoked to whip her out for my players when the time comes...they've already heard the rumors, hehehe.

Hi! I'm glad you guys like it! As for scale - I did put Kyra next to the second picture to give you an idea of scale. http://i261.photobucket.com/albums/ii71/QuixoticLanguor/Black%20Magga/photo 2.jpg
Here is a new picture putting her next to our Rune Giant gargantuan fig and Kyra to give you an idea of the scale: http://i261.photobucket.com/albums/ii71/QuixoticLanguor/magga3.jpg
(Poor Kyra doesn't look like she stands much of a chance against those two!!)
Base wise her tentacles extend beyond 4"x4" but her height seems about right. I ran my players against her this weekend - she was rightfully terrifying and of course got away but they are eager for a rematch! ;)
