Favourite Bestiary and Favourite Monsters

Lost Omens Campaign Setting General Discussion

Sovereign Court

Greetings to you all, my friends, Jurassic Bard here trying out my registered character. As this is a serious thread, I'm not going to be silly and start typing random things.

Anyway, I am curious to know, what is your favourite bestiary (out of the ones that have been released) and what is your favourite monster (or monsters, as the case may be) in each one?

For me, out of all the bestiaries currently released, I think my favourite one is the first one and (aside from the dinosaurs) my favourite monsters would have to be: the owlbear from number one, the jabberwock from number two, the wolf-in-sheep's-clothing from number three and grendel from number four.

Those are my thoughts, please tell me yours. :-)

Silver Crusade

First Bestiary because while the others are nice, the first one just has all the classics. I rarely see a monster in the B2-B4 and think to myself "Well, I would've been really sad to not have stats for this little fellow!"
Then again, I have never experienced high-level play (highest is 7 at the moment), so this might change.

Favorite monster: I like undead. Like, a lot. Just straight up "These guys are bad, smash 'em!" - so I think I will go with the Skeletal Champion. Lots of ways to use them.

Also: Wrong forum, Gamer Talk or Pathfinder General might be more appropriate. ;)

Favorite probably bestiary 3. Favorite monster definitely the Akhlut. Never has a single monster driven so much fear into every single adventuring group I've run for and run with when it is first introduced. Also Magic beasts FTW

I prefer Bestiary 3 and 4 to 1 and 2. I feel like most of the first two bestiaries was either just doing up SRD monsters or creating "serial numbers filed off" version of stuff that wasn't OGL. Whereas 3 and 4 are almost entirely new inventions.

I don't really have a favorite bestiary. But my favorite monsters are constructs, oozes, and fey. Least favorite would be the evil outsiders (there are just way too damn many of them), undead (which is funny as I am running Carrion Crown, which was due to popular vote), and aberrations (why do nearly all of them have to have tentacles?).

I haven't really looked too much into the various bestiaries to pick a favorite among them.
