Use magic device - spell list

Hello guys, I want to ask 2 questions because I can't find rules for them.
I am sure there are somewhere, but I am still noob :(

1)I am wizard lvl1/monk lvl3 and I know only lvl 1 spells. Can I cast with a wand a Wizard lvl2 spell? (If yes, do I need to roll?)

2)Do I need the minimum ability score to cast a spell using UmD with wand?

Yes and no, in that order. You can use a wand so long as that spell is on your class list, even if you cannot cast it. Even a paladin or ranger can use the appropriate wands before they can even cast spells.

You can use a wand of any level that a wizard can cast, and you do not need UMD not do you need the minimum ability score.

note: wands only go to level 4.

1. A. yes. B. since you're not at the level to cast 2nd level spells you need to roll a caster level check with the DC being the caster level of the wand, which will generally be 3 but could be higher if it was made with a higher caster level.

2. No. But are you really taking a wizard level with an Int of 11 or less?

You don't need a caster level check for wands, only scrolls.
