Liches & Symbols

Dark Archive

Out of curiosity, is it possible for a lich to inscribe a permenant symbol of spell on himself, say his chest, and keep it covered with clothing until needed?

Thanks!

You mean symbol spells, like symbol of death?

Are you a GM? Symbol of death has a statement about not being able to use the symbols offensively. So, unless you want players to adopt the same tactics I wouldn't recommend using it either.

Being a Lich or not a Lich doesn't really affect how any of the symbol spells work, so that isn't relevant.

Anyways, if you aren't the GM and you are a Lich, you should consult him and ask him how he feels about the line stating you can't use it offensively and ask him what falls under the ill-defined group.

Using it offensively refers to things like putting it on a weapon then striking people with the symbol, thereby triggering it by "touch."

Tattooing it to your chest then pulling your tunic away is not using it offensively in the same sense.

I disagree, but this is why I told him to ask his GM.

Sovereign Court

It gets nasty when the lich's undead standard-bearers unfurl his battle standards, all of them full of Symbols.
