Shipping comparisons

Customer Service

Hi

In the old cart/checkout process (which was much better and easier to follow and understand BTW) you could see what the shipping of your sub was going to cost and see what difference it would make adding something to that package. You could then compare various shipping options to figure out cheapest. Can you do that in the new system? If so, how? If not it really needs to be added in.

Thanks

Hey Mach,

The feature isn't currently available in the current build of the checkout process, but we understand the convenience it was able to provide. We're hoping to have the feature reimplemented in one of the future website updates.

Botheration! If it was easier to cancel (just click to cancel) I would just check it manually! Maybe you could let me know, I was looking to add a pathfinder novel to my next sub (just 1x AP book). What price would the shipping of both of them together be to me here in NZ?

FWIW, I think a separate "estimate your shipping" gizmo would be great (bonus points if you could check a box to prefill your next estimated subscription shipment and tick a second box to prefill your sidecart).

I agree with mach that the old system was better than the current in this regard, but even that was still kind of arcane for new users (it kind of felt like you were committing to a purchase just to find out the shipping cost).

mach1.9pants, you should be able to check the shipping cost by adding the novel and any AP volume to an empty cart then beginning the checkout process, and clicking on the Shipping button for your options. Just be sure not to finalize the order.

Not right sadly Joana, because I can see the cost of shipping just the book and I can see my current cost of my sub. What I can't see is what the shipping price will be if I add the book to the sub, so there is no way to see if it is cheaper to go with the sub or on it's own. The old system did that, gave you a shipping with your sub estimate, the new one does not. It is in most ways a poorer system for the customer, sadly.

I think she's suggesting adding an old, in print AP issue and the book to a fresh order - basically replicating your upcoming subscription. Presumably the shipping estimate will be consistent.

^This. Every AP volume weighs the same as any other, so the shipping cost won't care.

They're going to read this post and order heavier paper for the next one, just out of spite ;)

"Paizo Adventure Path volumes! Now 84% lead!"

Aha I'm a muppet. Thanks, that is a good idea :D

Funnily enough, as the sub is about to ship and has changed to be given an order number, it is showing the combined shipping now :D
