GM Campaign Software?

Does anyone know of any free GM software for writing a home brewed campaign? I have been working on one with pen and paper which seems archaic in hindsight. So looking for something free to cheap that can help me sort NPCs, cities, and log events. Anyone know of anything that fits that?

Not being sarcastic: MS Word. I use it for almost everything. World Map file, Each city has a file, each major NPC has a file...you get the idea.

I love pbworks. It is an extremely flexible wiki creator that I find far more useful than obsidian portal. It doesn't come spec'ed for roleplaying games, but it is still excellent.
