Merciless Rush

Rules Questions

Merciless Rush replaces how you push back a creature, and doesn't state anywhere about having available movement to do, or having actions to take. You simply bull rush a legal target and beat their cmd by 5 or more, and you "move through" it. This seems to be something people can go beyond the text to interpret in many ways, and want to see how others thinks this works.

Random scenario
Enlarged huge human attacks a large sized creature by extending their reach with lunge after moving max distance on a charge to just barely be in range of the creature. They replace their charge melee with the lunge bull rush and succeed, and choose to merciless rush. What happens?

It doesn't need to mention movement. It modifies bullrush. It makes exceptions but is otherwise subject to any rules of bullrush it hasn't changed.

It's an alternative to pushing, and following is it's own thing that you need available movement for. This mentions nothing about having movement but rather you do it upon beating the cmd by five or more.

That feat was changed/updated in Inner Sea Gods. Updated text.

I'm getting the same link

Quote:

Merciless Rush (Combat)

Though hordes stand against you, they rarely stand long.

Prerequisite(s): Improved Bull Rush, worshiper of an evil deity.

Benefit(s): When you bull rush a creature and your check exceeds the target's CMD by 5 or more, you deal damage equal to your Strength modifier to that target.

Fixed Link.

Okay, so crazy free movement and insanity was fixed by this update. This is the official updated version?

Grand Lodge

It is in Inner Sea Gods pg. 214, and Faiths of Corruption pg. 25.

Inner Sea Gods is the newest.

Hmmm... with the new update...

Trying to decide if it is better than Spiked Destroyer for a Shield Slam user. I'm thinking yes.

Fighter Retrain FTW I believe.

Especially as it allows Squash Flat and the Greater Trip wonderfulness.

I was debating this as well, and if you want to just invest in your cmb going up, then you probably want this, and spiked later on.

I like the update still because this will allow you to line up guys and every score you beat you will deal damage. Charging will be an overall +4 to bull rush too.
