Hey Guys,
New campaign in two weeks (wrapping up mine right now) and I've decided to play an angel turned mortal (tyreal in diablo 3 anyone?). I'm trying to figure out the build. I'm going to go Paladin and expect to get to roughly level 15.
Angel blooded Aasimar seems to be the race I'm going for so I can grab angel blood and wings later on (showing her regaining some of her powers as she grows). I'm really open to anything else though and want to bounce around some ideas.
I was thinking of going two handed and later on grabbing mithril medium armor to keep my fly checks low.
Suggestions?

Nah, that all sounds like a solid way to go. Indeed, Aasimar grabbing the Feats for wings is one of only two good ways to do this concept (the other being Synthesist Summoner).
In short, sounds like a solid call.
If it were me, I'd be deeply tempted to take a level of Oracle of Lore to grab Focused Trance and tap into 'celestial wisdom' and have impressive insights from my time as an angel...and incidentally grab Sidestep Secret and dump Dex, since that's an option, but that probably says more about my priorities than about it being a good idea.

Do you use 3rd party material?
It is exploitable if you try to abuse it but one of the most flexible classes I've seen published is the godling by rogue genius games. You could play a mighty godling (full bab heavy armor) and cherry pick angel related abilities from other classes, like the celestial bloodline, or one of the oracle mysteries that fits the theme, via the divine traits.
It also has lots of abilities inspired by the idea that the godling has divine power, many of which would work conceptually with a depowered angel slowly regaining his prominence.
