Ranger Archtype Compatability

Rules Questions

Liberty's Edge RPG Superstar Season 9 Top 16

I picked up Inner Sea Combat, and it has an archtype called Tanglebryer Demonhunter, which fits perfectly with one of my current PFS Rangers. I'm looking to do a retraining, but need to make sure one aspect of the archtypes will be legal before spending all of the gold and prestige retraining.

He is currently a skirmisher which has an ability with the following text:
This ability replaces the Ranger’s spells class feature. Skirmishers do not gain any spells or spellcasting ability, do not have a caster level, and cannot use spell trigger and spell completion magic items.

The Demonhunter has an ability which adds additional spells to the spell list.

So the question is:
A) Does each ability simply modify spellcasting, making them incompatible?
OR
B) One modifies the spell list (adding additional selections) while the other gives up the ability to cast spells, making the additional spells legal, but useless?

Since this is for PFS, I would err on the side of caution and go with "they modify the same class feature." It would suck to go through the hassle of retraining only to have table variance hit you or even a clarification that destroys your character.

I'd allow it too, but I don't run PFS. I agree with ryric unless you can get a very official ruling (not sure from where you could obtain it... maybe the PFS captain/general/god/whatever for your zone?), which is unlikely. Otherwise there will be issues where some GMs are cool with it and some are not.
