Confusion about confused condition

Rules Questions

From conditions page:

Any confused creature who is attacked automatically attacks its attackers on its next turn, as long as it is still confused when its turn comes.

Scenario 1:

Wizard sees a roomful of monsters, wants some entertainment. He casts confusion on the lot, they fail their saves, and tear each other to bits.

a) Is Confusion an attack (since it would break invisibility)?

b) If Confusion was considered as an attack, would that mean the wizard would have been the last person who attacked the monsters and thus is countered as their attackers and the monsters should all attack the wizard (no rolls on confusion table required)?

Scenario 2:

Replace Wizard with Cleric with Madness domain and variant channeling for madness, negative energy.

a) As the channel does damage, is it considered as an attack?

b) If the channel is an attack, would that mean the cleric would have been the last person who attacked the monsters and thus is countered as their attackers and the monsters should all attack the cleric(no rolls on confusion table required)?

Scenario 3:

Oracle with Lunar mystery and touch of the moon revelation uses a reach rod to drop an inflict light wounds from range.

a) As there is an actual attack roll(ranged touch), is it considered as an attack?

b) If the channel is an attack, would that mean the oracle would have been the last person who attacked the monsters and thus is countered as their attackers and the monsters should all attack the oracle(no rolls on confusion table required)?

Silver Crusade

The attack that inflicts the confused condition happens before the target is confused.

Sequence of events: wizard casts confusion, roomful of monsters roll Will saves (some make, some fail). From that point onward until the spell duration expires, any attack targeting a confused monster causes the monster to 'attack the attacker'. Since the spell was cast before the monster was confused then that spell doesn't come under consideration for what happens when the confused monster is attacked, because the monster was not confused yet when the wizard cast the spell.

What Malachi said.

Cast Confusion on two guards, neither of whom are very bright, but miraculously one saves and the other fails.

The one who fails rolls and "attacks nearest creature" which happens to be the other guard. He hits and the unaffected guard decides he doesn't much like the fact he's just been hit for no reason, so he hits back. At this point they're fighting each other until someone goes down as the Confused guard is now locked in to attack mode with the other guard, no further Confusion rolls needed...

unless, before the Confused guard's turn, the wizard decides to Magic Missile both of them to finish them off in their wounded state. Unfortunately, he doesn't quite manage to drop either of them!!! Confused guard goes next, and attacks the last person who attacked him, who happens to be the wizard now.

Both guards turn on wizard.
