Powerful Charge & Augment Summoning.

Hi!

i just got my Monster 5 Summons and got stuck on calculating the Woolly Rhinoceros, precisely the "Powerful Charge" Damage.

-> Powerful Charge (gore, 4d8+18).

A Rhino has a Strength of 28 and does normal gore damage of 2d8+12 (1,5xstr).

Now comes the Augment Summoning into play: Str+4 (so it has str 32 and does 2d8+16).

Does the Augment Summoning also enhance the Powerful Charge damage and if, how is the PC calculated in the first place ?
I assumed gore damage x2 - looks like the Rhinos Horn counts as a Lance, but i wanted to know for sure (and if this is documented anywhere in the Rulebooks and just could not find it).

Regards, Calimar_T.

AFAIK the Powerful Charge formula isn't documented anywhere.

Inference* suggests the formula is something along the lines of twice the dice and + an additional 50% Str to damage. (In this case 1.5x becomes 2x)

So your Powerful Charge would likely deal 4d8+22

*There are a few creatures who break this rule.

I concur with Archaeik, your Rhino's powerful charge would go from 4d8+18 to 4d8+22 (2d8 doubled +11*2 strength modifier).

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Perusing the Bestiaries for "Powerful Charge" it seems creatures that have only one attack, such as the Triceratops, add 2x their STR mod on a charge, while creatures with multiple natural attacks, such as the Elk, only add 1.5x.

So, as the others have said, an Augmented Summons would deal an extra +4 damage on a Powerful Charge (if it has only one natural attack).
