So, I'm working on a winter witch character for PFS and I have a copy of Animal Archive which introduces the rabbit familiar. I was thinking something like a snowshoe hare or other sub-arctic breed of bunny.
Now, according to Inner Sea Magic, the winter witch's familiar options are as follows:
"Winter witches must choose a familiar that is native to the frozen north, even when they themselves operate in other regions."
Since the Winter Witch archetype was written before the release of Animal Archive,by the RAW it seems like that might be allowed. Am I right?

The way its written really leaves it up to interpretation as to what is a native of the frozen north. PFS usually likes to use the given list and think of players as criminals who will inevitably try to break it if they don't attach themselves to the list, and I'm not keen on PFS's rules for this archetype in general.
The Reign of Winter player's guide does include an arctic hare familiar option, though its not legal for society play. I'd imagine it wouldn't be a horrible thing if you did take a rabbit.

Strictly speaking I don't think it is legal for PFS. At best, it probably falls into the table variation category.
And given that it gives the really nice +4 to initiative I think that you'd run the risk of running into a GM who'd notice and object. Although that wouldn't actually be disastrous (you leave Bugs at home for the session).
Your best bet is probably to post in the PFS boards and hope Mike notices and says it is legal.
