So recently I've been looking over things to get the highest caster level I could.
Base race is the Dhampir with the Jiang Shi alternate race. I picked Dhampir because of their favored bonus with the wizard class.
Class is Wizard, doesn't matter which school you specialize in, but Necromancy will be the focus.
For versatility, I will also go for the Primalist archetype and Sin Magic (Necromancy).
This will be a rough level 20 build, any pathfinder material would be acceptable, 25 point buy.
Feats:
Scribe Scroll, Magic Tattoo (Necromancy), Spell Focus, Greater Spell Focus (Necromancy), Spell Specialization, Focused Spell, Tenebrous Spell, Umbral Spell, Shadow Grasp (not needed), Spell Perfection, Opposition Research (abjuration), False Focus, Reach Spell
I was thinking Sands of Time or the Suffocation line for Spell Specialization or Perfection
For the caster level though I have:'
20 (class level)
5 (favored bonus)
1 (magic tattoo)
2 (spell specialization)
1 (tenebrous spell)
1 (false focus [salt-alchemical power up])
5 (spell perfection)
1 (ioun stone [orange prism])
1 (death-knell)
4 (karma prayer bead)
for a total of 41
with a primal event, that could also be a CR 41..
Can I get the caster level higher than what I have?
If I'm using mass suffocate this build also has a high save dc
Int: 18 (base) + 2 (racial) + 2 (age) + 5 (levels) + 5 (item, wish, or miracle) + 6 (Item) = 38 (+14)
Feats: Spell Focus (necromancy), greater spell focus (necromancy), Focus Spell (+2 dc on one creature), tenebrous spell, spell perfection
Mass Suffocate DC:
10 (base)
9 (spell level)
2 (metamagic feat w/ trait)
2 (feats)
1 (tenebrous w/ spell perfection)
4 (spell perfection)
14 (high Int)
