"New edition" of The Wormwood Mutiny?!?

Paizo General Discussion

Not sure if I'm posting in the correct forum, but got a strange reply from the customer service of Amazon.de regarding The Wormwood Mutiny:

http://www.amazon.de/Pathfinder-Adventure-Path-Shackles-Wormwood/dp/1601254 040

To my knowledge, this is the only Amazon site still selling The Wormwood Mutiny for 15 EUR, however the book is listed as "not published yet".
Out of curiosity, I've done a pre-order last week, followed yesterday by a question about the "real" availability of this book.
This is the answer from Amazon.de (in English, like my original question):

Dear Customer

yes your pre- order (...) is real.

But as I see on our website, this item in new edition is not yet released.

You will find the publishing date on our website as soon as we have been informed by the manufacturer.

As soon as the publisher releases "Pathfinder Adventure Path: Skull & Shackles Part 1 - The Wormwood Mutiny", we will be able to send it to you. On the date of shipment, we will send you an e-mail notifcation confirming the date, contents, and method of your shipment.

In case the expected waiting time is too long, you may also fully cancel the order on that same page on our website.

Thank you for shopping at Amazon.de. I hope I could be of service.

Warmest regards,
Ankit Bhatia

"New edition"?!? Is Paizo reprinting The Wormwood Mutiny? I don't understand WHY nobody sells this book for a decent price anymore (on this side of the Atlantic, at least), but I *CAN* wait for a new edition (or a reprint) on sale from Amazon (yeah I do know Paizo still have it, but buying here means 1): shipping charges for overseas expeditions, 2): import duty/taxes, and 3): possible physical damages to the book(s) during travel).
I hope someone here can answer me, grazie!

I am not customer service, but I would be it is not the actual book, but rather the deck for the pathfinder Adventure Card Game.
The next AP for the card game is Skull and Shackles.

Pathfinder Maps, Pathfinder Accessories Subscriber; Pathfinder Roleplaying Game Charter Superscriber; Starfinder Charter Superscriber

No, this is obviously for the AP book, but this can only be an error. Paizo, as a general rule, does not reprint products like these.

It's most certainly not a confusion with the card game product, since there is no "The Wormwood Mutiny" product for that game. The deck for that adventure is incuded in the base set.

The answer is that Amazon have no clue about RPG books, whether they've come out yet or not.

Paizo have a longstanding policy of not usually reprinting books other than the rules product line - the chance of them doing so for a book they havent yet sold out is pretty much zero.

Steve is right. Amazon is confused. What's likely happened is that they've run out of stock and are misinterpreting that as the book being out of print—all they need to do is reorder more from their distributor... although whether or not that's worth the cost and time and trouble to Amazon isn't something I can decide for them...

Oh well, I admit I'm curious to see if Amazon.de will send my 'pre-order' anytime soon(?), but it's clear that I need to save more money for a real order from Paizo too.

A "ciao e grazie" from Italy to you all!

Actually, we have fewer than 250 copies of this book left, so it's no longer available to our distribution partners, and I believe that the distributor Amazon would buy from is out of stock. In short, I don't think Amazon is going to be able to fulfill that order.

I worked gaming distribution in the late nineties. Amazon was just really getting into game books and sent us a small order and a NDA that could have choked a bear. When we refused to sign they continued to send us orders even though I contacted them on multiple occasions to explain we had no interest in doing business if they wanted us to sign the NDA and then spent a 30 minute conversation attempting to explain exactly how out of print some of the things they were ordering. Didn't stop them from sending us an order every week for about 3 months. I have watched their RPG preorders in the time since. It hasn't gotten any better. Amazon has absolutely no idea about anything that is happening in the RPG world.

Amazon should make a deal with you paizo people directly. Then they might participate in the glory. As a side effect, overseas people like me would benefit from faster shipping perhaps^^

However Amazon.de emailed me again, maybe there is hope after all...
