Young Necromancer in need of Guidance (PFS)

Advice

So, I just hit level 3 as a Wizard(Necromancer). I played the first two levels of thornkeep, and that got me slingshotted into level 3. Now that I'm here, I find myself somewhat wanting in power. I have control undead via the channel ability. However, if there are no undead presented in the dungeon we are currently diving into, I'm somewhat gimped. Anyone have any advice for this up and coming necromancer to help get me through the next few levels until I can cast Animate Undead(level 4 spell)??

I really don't know how things work in PFS, but are you allowed to purchase spell casting as a service? If so and you have the money you could maybe bring materials and have a nice mentor necromancer animate you a bloody skeleton or two.

I can purchase scrolls...and i can have people cast spells "in town". Not sure about getting them to come to the actual site to do such work for me.

It only costs 5 gold

If you can have people cast for you in town at a price, what's stopping you from adding some "fresh materials" to your inventory as they become available and bringing them back? No on-site excursion required.

Your cleverness is only exceeded by your helpfulness.

Perhaps, I'll have to look up the ruling on that. Generally necromancy is kind of done in secret. Not sure if they'd allow me to drag my pets through town.

Just a note for PFS, any creature animated lasts only for that play session. An animated undead does not carry over from week to week. That said there are some great necro spells. Pay of enfeeblement is a nice 1st level, false life and defending bone are nice 2nd lvl. Don't forget lesser animate dead at 3rd.

You have a high int, which means you have some skill points. Might look at taking a bought animal into combat with Handle Animal, if it dies later just animate it.

Also recommend you get a craft skill for day job rolls (with crafter fortune) to help cover the costs of animating.

Step 1: Go to the local general store and buy a shovel and a wheelbarrow
Step 2: Go to the local graveyard
Step 3: I think you see where I'm going with this
Step 4: Dump the wheelbarrow at the entrance of the dungeon
Step 5: Cast your spells and now you have some minions to help you out

Ouch, that really hurts for a minion focused Necromancer.
