Hexcrafter: prehensile hairs and rods.

Rules Questions

So, prehensile hairs are clearly associated with a hand, so they're valid for spell combat. Now, the text of spell combat says you must have 1 hand free. The question become: could I use as my "other hand holding nothing" the hairs while I wield a rod or something other in my other hand and still spell combat using weapon+hairs as other hand? Can I do the opposite, like wield the rod with hairs, and spell combat with my two "real" hands?

You need to have an actual, real hand free to use spell combat.

You can wield a metamagic rod with the hairs and use it with spell combat.

And where are you getting that interpretation? Prehensile hair has been called out as effectively an additional hand for nearly all purposes (save wielding weapons and shields) and is explicitly used as a casting hand for spellcasting and spellcombat.

What reasoning are you using to believe it's not valid?

So I can do that? I did in the last session wielding a rod with the hairs because I was a bit unsure on that topic. I remember that is called out as an hand, but for good measure I wielded it with hairs and I had spell combat with my 2 real hands. Glad to know tha I can do even the opposite.
