Would Spell Like Abilities be considered casting a spell without preparation?
Would a rogue with Minor Magic talent qualify for the Dragon discipline?
Expect a lot of table variance on this.
It probably will work, but you will find a lot of tables that say it won't work because it isn't "able to cast spells" but rather the spells must not be prepared spells.

Do you prepare a spell-like ability?

I'm not quite following that explanation; can you be a little more specific/explicit as to the source of table variation with this topic?

How about using it to get a Wizard into Dragon Disciple?
Just remember that if you're a Wizard turning into a dragon, you have to worry about one thing your sorcerer friends don't need to bother with.
See if you can figure out what it is.

My view is they would qualify. SLA do not require preparation.
There are many people that disagree. Their view is when it says "without preparation" that this is referring to the way mechanically spontaneous casters work.
Because there is no rule asserting how this works and the only reason we know the SLA can work at all is because there are FAQ involved, this can only be clarified in any meaningful way via another FAQ.
Otherwise, you will be sure to see table variance.

Fortunately, eschew materials is a feat which anyone can take.

The FAQ is pretty clear on this, spell-like abilities count as spells for feat and PrC prerequisites. Some people have argued that a spell like ability doesn't actually count as 'able to cast 1st-level arcane spells without preparation', however, given the FAQ, an SLA -- which you do not have to prepare -- that counts as an 1st-level arcane spell will pretty clearly meet the requirements for DD. The FAQ explicitly recognizes that this allows entry into PrCs early or with class combinations that wouldn't otherwise work.
Many of the wizard school powers will work for this purpose.

*blink* I hadn't even considered that...
Wow...

Yes. You can do it at 4th if you take the Trickery domain or Fate Inquisition, which give a spell-like ability based off a 2nd level spell. Because the ability is given by a divine casting class it's considered a divine spell.
So that satisfies the requirement for casting level 2 divine spells.
By now, the major delay is actually getting the 3 ranks in the skills.

That, and if you allow 3.5 stuff then Dragon magazine had an amazing article about insane dragons, and one of them was a dragon obsessed with being a wizard and collecting magic instead of a standard dragon's treasure. So, no gold, just books and scrolls and such so that they can learn more spells. Instead of being a sorcerer like most dragons, these dragons are wizards with their spells represented by runes on their scales. They have to spend the same amount of time each day as a wizard meditating to be able to "activate" their scales. It's been awhile since I read it (and I'd have to dig out the copy) but since being a wizard was the whole focus, yeah. Eschew Materials if it wasn't a bonus feat for them, it would logically be a feat they would take immediately.
