Does the Champion Path Ability Perfect Strike stack with Vital Strike?

Rules Questions

Or are they two mutually exclusive types of attacks?

Yes they seem to be different uses of a standard action.
Edit: mening that they cannot be used togeather.

Vital strike requires the attack action, Perfect Strike is it's own kind of standard action.

Those things.

Fortunately, with Amazing Initiative, you can move once and Mythic Greater Vital Strike twice in a turn.

So what exactly is the point of Perfect Strike then? It's basically the same as Mythic Vital Strike. Is it just a different way to get the same effect?

Not so. Perfect Strike bypasses all damage reduction and hardness and increases the critical hit multiplier by 1, and it can be combined with champion's strike. Mythic Vital Strike does none of those things (though it also doesn't cost any mythic power).

If you're wondering whether one should take Perfect Strike, I can only answer: it depends. If you're already burning feats on Vital Strike, it probably isn't for you, unless you need to do a ton of damage all at once to something with really high DR. Even then, if you go up to Greater Vital Strike w/ Mythic Vital Strike, that DR really isn't going to matter much. But then, that costs three feats and a mythic feat, while Perfect Strike costs a mythic power. If you're feat-starved, Perfect Strike starts looking better.

Ah, I see.

Cool, yeah, I already have Greater Vital Strike + Mythic Vital Strike, so I was wondering if there was any point in taking this. Thanks!

I would like to posit that the real question is if Vital Strike can be combined with any of the Champion's Strike abilities, Distant Barrage, Distant Barrage, or Sudden Attack.

The last line of Perfect Strike states that "Perfect strike can be used in conjunction with any champion's strike if you expend uses of mythic power for each ability separately." As such if Vital Strike can be successfully combined with any of the three Champion's Strike abilities then all three abilities could feasibly be combined, Vital Strike, Perfect Strike, and a Champion's Strike.

Unfortunately, the Champion's Strike abilities are their own actions, while Vital Strike only works with the attack action (the one defined in the Combat chapter). This has caused no end of grief to folks who want to use it with Spring Attack, Cleave, a feated-up lance charge, and so on.

Fortunately, Mythic Vital Strike is already freaking amazing if you invest all the way up. It'd be icing if it was usable with other special attacks, but it's quite powerful already.

It'd be nice if there were other feats for combining Vital Strike with other special attacks.

Like Vital Charge or Vital Cleave, etc.

Vital Strike is already too many feats. It should have the built-in ability to work with Charge, Cleave, Spring Attack, etc.
