Preferably not a ioun stone (as it attracts attention).
Not if you use a Wayfinder
Pale Green Prism (cracked) gives "+1 competence bonus on attack rolls or saving throws" for 4000 gp.

For me however that slot is reserved for a clear spindle stone. And you can only have one active wayfinder for stone carriage.

Then upgrade to an Ebon Wayfinder (18,000) or a Wayfinder of Passage (136,000). These hold two and three stones, respectively.

Question |
Good idea but only 25% of cracked stones have resonant powers right?
Also yea i could make custom magic items but that could get cheesy fast...
For example some kind of item that sits in your pocket but grants you a +1 luck bonus to saves would only cost 4k gp?
And you could have one each for insight, morale, competence, sacred, etc...

So, 1 in 4 chance of getting something extra to the stone's power.

Only if the GM let you. :-)

4.5k [need the Wayfinder to allow it to sit in your pocket.]
And you could have one each for insight, morale, competence, sacred, etc...
You did not want multiple Ioun Stones floating about. The Wayfinder (Ebon, and Passage) allows 1 (2, and 3 resp.) holding places for stones. Unless the resonant power deactivates the stone's regular power, you get the regular power.
A special limitation on the Wayfinder is:
"The auras of multiple augmenting wayfinders tend to interfere with each other; a person with one who tries to hold or carry a second usually finds that both sputter out in just a few seconds, but activate again once the second one is set aside."
