I am introducing an awakened flesh golem into my party as an NPC. I want him to appear human to the players until I do the big reveal. He was built to look as human as possible. So he is medium sized. He has a good bluff and disguise. He has a hat of disguise. He's third level brawler (see Advanced Classes Guide) and has 9 hd in construct. He is going to be assigned as a bodyguard for one of the players. I realize that there is a healing issue, which I may work out with potions.
Does anyone know of a good magic item I can give him for healing? Remember stuff like mending heals golems...so does electricity in this case.
Also, what other concerns should I address to pass him off as human.
Thanks.

I am playing a 13th level cleric of Urgathoa with a necromantic Flesh Golem, I never really tried passing him off as human other than to say "he looks kind of like the Undertaker", also if the party has a cleric there is a channeling brick that can heal constructs; I didn't need it because he was necromantic, but that should work.
Also, long term is something to think about due to the berserk chance that is cumulative in combat, meaning it will come up if he's around for awhile. I had a control rod so it was not a big deal.

This could help... there's also the "repair" spells from Eberron (they're clones of the "cure" spells, except they're transmutation and affect constructs, instead). If he carries a sufficient number of repair oils, he should be fine, considering his DR.

One thing is also, that a lot of places in Golarion are familiar with Flesh Golems, Magnimar has a Golemworks, Kaer Maga has a foundry of golem making family named the Ardoc's, Idk but there's a lot more places. It's something to consider that someone might find him out, especially because a hat of disguise is foiled by detection magic and only makes so much differences. Anywhere like city gates, security places like a ruler's castle, it should come up fairly often.
My workaround (as a player) was to have diplomatic papers forged to be a dignitary from Geb, that way I could just say he was a gift by the church to keep me safe.

Assuming that she allows 3.5, magic immunity would still be a problem, I think.

Speaking of the hat of disguise: you can't use it to assume the appearance of another creature type (only subtypes, I'm afraid). Thus, the golem would still appear... well, "construct-y".
There's always the greater hat of disguise which functions as alter self, though, which correct me if I'm wrong, changes your creature type to humanoid. If so, healing's no longer an issue, as the golem would be affected by positive/negative energy as normal.

A Channel Construct Brick costs 10,00gp to purchase or 5,000gp 10 days and Craft Wondrous Item to make. An Apprentice team (1 Sorcerer) costs 520gp to hire and takes 3 days to recruit. The brick combined with a channeler in the party is ideal but pricey, the apprentice is cheaper and has much more problem potential.

Ok thanks guys...the greater hat of disguise is a good idea I think, but it says you assume the form. It doesn't say you become the humanoid type. The issue with the brick is that there are no clerics in my world. The only \divine casters are inquisitors, and nature oriented casters. No clerics or paladins. There is an inquisitor in the party. The golem itself is part of the government (an imperial guard) so he can get by most security. Good point about the hat of disguise not allowing you to look like another type, but I was thinking that it would just remove the scars...bolts...etc. I was considering having him carry a wand of mending or something, but I will look into the Ebberon magic items. If any has anymore suggestions, I'm open to them. So far they haven't questioned it, but I just introduced him last night at the end of an encounter and play session. Thanks again.
