summoning question

So I'm playing a druid in my pathfinder group. I recently got the ability to summon Mephits. While looking at these creatures I saw that they have an ability where once per day they can summon a lvl 2 Mephit.

I'm having trouble finding the rules concerning this. My DM told me that I can have the Mephit I summon (4th level) use this spell (CL 6 spell). My question is, would I be able to make the summoned Mephit also cast this spell and summon another level 2 Mephit, and then that new one summon another, next one summons another, and so on. Or is there a limit to this?

From Summon Nature's Ally:

Quote:

A summoned monster cannot summon or otherwise conjure another creature, nor can it use any teleportation or planar travel abilities. Creatures cannot be summoned into an environment that cannot support them. Creatures summoned using this spell cannot use spells or spell-like abilities that duplicate spells that have expensive material components (such as wish).

Summoned creatures can't summon. Also, in case it matters, summoned creatures can't teleport.

They did this do prevent situations from happening that you are describing where you have the eternal summoning loop.
