Undine Adept Augment Summoning

Rules Questions

Grand Lodge

I apologize if this has been answered; Ran a search but couldn't find this specific question.

Undine Adept gets the Supernatural Ability Augment Summoning for free at third level.
This is for water subtypes only.

If I take the feat Augment Summoning, would it stack with water subtypes?

Grand Lodge

I would be interested in the answer to this as well.

They are both enhancement bonuses yes?

Grand Lodge

It is worded as such:

Augment Summoning (SU) wrote:

At 3rd level, any creature with the water subtype the undine adept summons with either summon monster or summon nature's ally gains the benefits of the Augment Summoning feat.

This ability replaces trackless step.

Augment Summoning (feat) wrote:

Prerequisite: Spell Focus (conjuration).

Benefit: Each creature you conjure with any summon spell gains a +4 enhancement bonus to Strength and Constitution for the duration of the spell that summoned it.

Being that one is a supernatural ability and one is a feat, I would assume they would stack, although only for creatures with the water subtype.

I think the question is "gains the benefits of the _____ feat" a fancy way of saying that _____ is a gained as a bonus feat or not. Of course, in this case it would be a limited version of the feat (water subtypes only) so it's pretty weak if it doesn't stack.

Bonuses of the same type (enhancement, in this case) do not stack; even if the creature would qualify to receive the increase in ability scores twice, only the highest bonus would stick. Since the bonus from both sources is tied at +4, it would receive only that +4 to Str and Con.

Note that this also means that casting Bear's Endurance or Bull's Strength on the summoned monster is pointless, as those spells provide enhancement bonuses as well.

That's what I was trying to lead him to

Thank you all
