Legendary Item

Rules Questions

If you take the legendary Item ability Intelligent do you get one of the special abilities at no cost, or do you have to get the special abilities at later levels? Planning on grabbing this at tier 2, but I Am Unsure if I can get Intelligent and upgrade-able, and rejuvenating. Someone please clarify.

First selection of Intelligent won't grant a special ability. (Reasoning:

Quote:
You can select this ability more than once. Each time you do, you can increase its ability scores (to a maximum of 20 each) and select one of the following special abilities.

The phrase "each time you do" refers to "select this ability more than once". In other words, it says "each time you select this ability more than once...")

And there's absolutely nothing stopping you picking Intelligent, Rejuvenating and Upgradeable as your first 3 Legendary Item powers.

ok, thank you =]

one other thing: It says You have to pick it again to get more abilities beyond 3rd. does the first taking of it allow 3 upgrades or only 2?

Taking Legendary Item once allows the item to have up to 3 legendary item powers (however that number is capped by your tier, so if you're only tier 2, you don't get the third power until you hit tier 3). You can pick the Legendary Item universal path ability again to get another (up to) 3 legendary item powers (for a total of 6 once you reach 6th tier), and again for another 3 (for a total of 9 at 9th tier).
