So, our group is considering a new campaign. Dwarves and a Gunslinger Girl. The short backstory is the human girl inherited her father's airship and the dwarves are all crewmembers.

What would you all want to play in such a party?

I am thinking about a Dwarf Wizard (maybe Cleric) named Uhren Stahl (German for Steel Clock!)

Guns and Airships? So is it going for a steampunk vibe? Air Dwarves could be cool, i'd probably go for a Cleric/Warpriest of Desna ('cause of traveling) or some kind of archer.

Going to be skypirates?

Dwarven Grenadier Alchemist
Dwarven Freebooter Ranger
Dwarven Siege-Mage Wizard
Dwarven Inquisitor of Torag
Dwarven Brutal Pugilist Barbarian
Dwarven Skald
Dwarven Cleric of Torag

Will they rescue a handsome prince?

Spending that much time around a group of crumudgeonly dwarves, I'd settle for even a moderately attractive one.

I vote they eventually rescue Prince.

I'll just leave this here

Dunno if we would be skypirates. I think the GM (if this takes off (haha)) will be the one deciding what we do ;)

I just like the idea that this seed is so...open ended. Great to have a campaign that can be both episodic and fun :D

Dunno if we'll rescue any handsome princes, or even moderately attracticve ones... lol

pacifist dwarven drunken master monk with a tendency to jump from the airship to attempt mid-air grapples (hopefully near a wall so slow far can help him if he misses)

dwarven ranger crossbow style with a repeating heavy crossbow who complains about how new fangled technology like firearms make it so even a slip of a girl like the gunslinger can think they're capable warriors without having spent decades learning the craft and how it is causing the world to fall into chaos

a cross-dressing (or is he really a she?) dwarven infiltrator inquisitor of Torag who claims to be a true N heretic cleric of Lamashtu

Thats a hell of a tendency. I have a tendency towards tangents and run on sentences, but not towards, say, jumping into traffic.

But isn't it a great image? Just picture a dwarf saying "hold my beer and watch this" as he jumps off the side of the airship.

Chaotic Evil gnoll pirate. Speaks in an exaggerated pirate accent, claims to be the scourge of the several seas, gets airsick, and refuses to explain why he's there or why he's helping them. His name is "One-Eye", but he has both eyes. He always says it like the characters in Thief and the Cobbler, too, pointing at his eye and drawing out the syllables.

But then again, that's what I'd play in any game.

Yes it is. Being both a pacifist and drunk, I imagine him leaping through the air to grapple/hug people he doesn't know.

There has GOT to be a Dwarven Techslinger/(Spellcaster)/Technomancer. He can maintain the ship... And his name shall be Cid!

Edit: I suppose the same could be done with a basic Dwarven Gunslinger with lots of ranks in Engineering.
