Two Weapon Dagger Build

Advice

Hi all,

I am looking to build a two weapon dagger attacker, mainly looking to dual wield daggers in melee able to throw them if possible, although I am happy to fall back to crossbow for primary ranged attacks. Doesn't need to be fully optimised (I would prefer to stay away from Rogue if possible).

Main feel I am going for is Kalam out of Malazan book of the Fallen. Does anyone have any build suggestions, what class best stats to use etc? Should I use different weapon to daggers but have the same feel?

Thanks for any advice.

Ahh Kalam, he is an awesome choice to work with. Personally I'm more of a Rallick fan myself but them the breaks.

As for what your looking for, I would say Ranger maybe with the Skirmisher Archetype or even a fighter with the Lore Warden Archetype for the extra skills. Another choice that would be fit would be the Slayer. If your trying to stay away from rogues that would be my suggestion. As for whether to use daggers or another weapon. I would stick with the daggers, it just fits the character more.

See if your DM will allow you to use Daggers in the Close Weapon group with a Brawler Fighter. If not or if this is for PFS, you can just use Punching Daggers or Wushu Darts for the same feel.

Brawlers are deadly, and can be great at TWF. They work well as STR Based or Dex based.

If you are going to be focused on throwing the daggers as well as meleeing with them, you will need Quick Draw, Rapid Shot, and deadly aim in addition to Twf feats and will eventually want to get a blinkback belt.

Thanks for the advice, I think Ranger might be a bit more fitting and I really quite like the Skirmisher archetype, I can see a few things that seem quite useful.

I haven't looked at slayer. Am I right in thinking its part of the ACG?

I agree daggers seem the most fitting for the character.

Edit: Brawler also seems really quite interesting as well. I think my GM would allow daggers in the close group (after a quick look at it im not quite sure why they aren't already in the group)

I totally forgot about the brawler. I built one myself for a shield basher once and they are awesome. I second Imbicatus' idea.

My choice for at least 20pb would be a Two-Weapon Warrior or a Dawnflower Dervish fighter. For smaller point-buys, I prefer the Ranger.

Check the Kukri. It is thematically similar and mechanically superior.

What lvl will you start?

Also, don't forget the River Rat trait, it's a +1 to all damage rolls with a dagger.

PB would either be 20 or 25 so quite a bit to work with and start at lvl 1.

Kukri actually seems great :D

I'll take a look at those that you suggested.

Edit: Hmm might query about getting river rat to work with Kukri. Or maybe throw daggers and melee with the Kukri.

Whatever you end up doing, you should very, very seriously consider the River Rat trait. +1 damage when using daggers is a pretty significant bonus.

EDIT: Imbicatus took a level in ninja, apparently.

Brawler is indeed a great choice. And if you do intend to throw them too, kukris cannot substitute daggers.

Ok after what everyone has said I think Brawler with the River Rat Trait sounds great to me :D thanks for the help and quick responses!! :D

Somebody should say something to these guys. I guess they just all shelled out for the throwing enchantment.

Yup. Pathfinder really is a simulationist game. :P

Say something? Certainly not me. :)

Lets not be greedy and just ask for improving the monk and the rogue at this time :P
